The 2025 Speedo Winter Junior Championships produced a wave of record-breaking swims as Day 3 delivered standout performances across both the East (Indianapolis) and West (Austin) meets. Meet records and National Age Group records were eclipsed, signaling a heated battle for top honors as the two campuses combined to crown the top eight finishers in every event.
Event schedule highlight: Day 3 featured A/B/C finals for the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, and 100 back, plus timed finals for the 200-yard freestyle relays.
Girls’ 400 Yard Individual Medley – Finals
The field featured a multi-record performance slate. The East champion Audrey Derivaux of Jersey Wahoos surged to a personal best of 4:01.83, capturing the third-fastest time ever by a 15–16 girl and winning the East by about a half-length. She finished 1.4 seconds ahead of West winner Kayla Han of La Mirada Armada and nearly 8.5 seconds ahead of the rest of her heat. Han clocked 4:03.28 to claim a comfortable margin over CSP Tideriders’ Sydney Schoeck, with the later portions of the heat well behind.

Gabi Brito of Beach Cities Alpha took the West crown with 51.55, just ahead of the rest of the field.

Alyssa Ton (NOVA) was 1:45.22 for the West, with Elizabeth Eichbrecht (NOVA) taking 1:45.52 for the East.

West swimmers occupied six of the top eight spots overall.

Although Lakeside did not crack the top eight overall, Rylee Erisman’s 21.84 anchor for the East clinched a strong 6th-place finish for LAKR.

The East’s Central Ohio Aquatics team previously set 1:18.96 a short time earlier in the day, while West-based teams fought for the remaining podium spots.
