Over 10,000 Las Cruces residents faced a power outage on Wednesday morning, lasting nearly an hour, due to a faulty transformer replacement. The El Paso Electric power outage map revealed widespread disruptions, with dozens of outages recorded in the area, particularly near E. Amador Avenue and N. Main Street. The outages began around 9:30 a.m. and were expected to be resolved by 1:45 p.m., but power was restored earlier than anticipated by 10:15 a.m. An EP Electric spokesperson attributed the outage to a failing voltage transformer at one of the Las Cruces substations.
