Giants' Front Office Shakeup: Dawn Aponte Joins as Senior VP of Football Operations
The New York Giants are undergoing a significant organizational transformation with the appointment of John Harbaugh as head coach. This strategic move is further bolstered by the recent hiring of Dawn Aponte as senior vice president of football operations, according to a report from ESPN. Aponte brings a wealth of experience to the team, having previously served as the chief administrator of football operations since 2017.
This marks Aponte's second tenure with the league office, having previously held the role of vice president of labor finance from 2006 to 2008. Her expertise in football administration and operations is evident through her previous roles with the Dolphins and the Browns. From 2010 to 2016, Aponte served as the senior vice president of football operations for the Dolphins, and later as executive vice president of football administration. From 2009 to 2010, she held the position of vice president of football administration with the Browns.
The Giants' recent organizational changes come after they parted ways with Kevin Abrams, the club's senior vice president of football operations and strategy, in January. This strategic shift highlights the Giants' commitment to building a strong and cohesive football operations team under the leadership of John Harbaugh and the guidance of Dawn Aponte.
